2014-10-03 | Datr | Zuril: You may have noticed that some of the threads have much longer comments and an increase in the number of comments. On occasion it isn't possible to see the last comment without moving the whole page with the page slider, then moving the comments slider again. I have noticed that if you move the comments slider 1cm the text moves down 1cm, would it me possible to magnify the sliders effect so that 1 cm movement on the slider moves the text down 2cm, say, this would enable players to see more comments without having to move the page slider.
2014-09-23 | Garykevinware | Fritz saw it almost instantly.
2014-09-23 | Datr | Stockfish and Houdini failed to see that move.
2014-09-23 | Garykevinware | Was it Stockfish that didn't see that 6 g4 or whatever move that was?
2014-09-22 | Datr | Zuril: When I first joined the site you were using Stockfish and then switched to Houdini, sometimes I disagree with the site engine and prefer a different move, I then check the position with Stockfish and often find that it agrees with me. I think Stockfish seems to play a more human style of chess than Houdini. Perhaps it is time to switch back to Stockfish. Sometrhing to consider.
2014-09-12 | Garykevinware | Nice rationalization. If I say that a problem 'can' be corrected, that means that it is capable of being corrected, which by Zuril's admission, it is.
2014-09-12 | Datr |
Final comment on this. When someone says "Sorry I can't see you tomorrow", it doesn't mean it is impossible for them to see you, it means they have other priorities and have made a decision not to see you. In the same way the problem can't be corrected doesn't mean it is impossible to correct it, it means Zuril has decided not to correct it. |

2014-09-11 | Garykevinware | "It would appear that your: m6127 "The solution needed to be changed; same thing." has been removed from the Wall." That's because it was never on the Wall. What is the difference between the 'text' and the 'solution'. In both cases, changes needed to be made to the solution. Two statements that have been proven true: "'Let's' evade the fact that you're wrong." "Therefore, you are wrong, but you will continue to refuse to admit it." A simple syllogism: Premise: A problem can be corrected. Statement: "It's easier to delete the problem rather than correct it because problems are stored in the database in a form adapted for the computer rather than to human reading and editing.: Conclusion: The problem could be corrected. Quod erat demonstratum.
2014-09-11 | Datr | It would appear that your: m6127 "The solution needed to be changed; same thing." has been removed from the Wall.

It isn't the same thing, there are the moves which are stored in a database in computer friendly format and there is the associated text, the text is easier to correct than the moves. m6127 had the correct moves stored in the computer friendly format but the associated text was wrong. |

2014-09-11 | Garykevinware | The problem 'could' have been corrected. What do you not understand about that sentence? I certainly don't understand this sentence, "I am no expert it seems to be more than you."
2014-09-11 | Datr | Stick to what you know, correcting spelling and grammar because you obviously don't know much about software, I am no expert it seems to be more than you.
2014-09-11 | Garykevinware | Precisely, it could have been corrected, like m6127.
2014-09-11 | Datr | Precisely.
2014-09-10 | Zuril | It's easier to delete the problem rather than correct it because problems are stored in the database in a form adapted for the computer rather than to human reading and editing
2014-09-10 | Garykevinware | I doubt your facts about whether Zuril always deletes problems rather than correcting them, but the point is the problem was a sound mate in 3, that for some reason had a bizarre 'solution', and so it is capable of being corrected, like I said, whereas you said that it could not be corrected. Therefore, you are wrong, but you will continue to refuse to admit it.
2014-09-09 | Datr |
OK. In my opinion you are wrong, why, because on many occasions I have asked Zuril to Correct or Delete problems and on every occasion he has deleted them, not on one occasion has he corrected a problem. So I am assuming the same thing will apply this time. So why would I admit you are correct when based on historical evidence you are totally wrong. |
|
2014-09-09 | Garykevinware | Sure, you're evading. I said, "Of course it can be corrected; you change the solution to the correct one.", and you didn't admit that I was right, you just 'passed the buck' to Zuril.
2014-09-09 | Datr | I am not evading anything, I am waiting for Zuril's response.
2014-09-09 | Garykevinware | 'Let's' evade the fact that you're wrong.
2014-09-09 | Datr | Zuril will sort it out one way or another, lets wait and see how he does it.
2014-09-09 | Garykevinware | Of course it can be corrected; you change the solution to the correct one.
2014-09-09 | Datr | Because it can't be corrected.
2014-09-08 | Garykevinware | Why do you want to delete what can be corrected?
2014-09-08 | Datr | Zuril: When one translates a page to English the FEN gets corrupted, is it possible to stop this happening.
2014-09-08 | Datr | Zuril: m78950 needs deleting.
