2013-01-05	Datr	If a player has a rating X and a puzzle has a rating Y and the rating changes are x and y respectively then y = -x only if X=Y AND the player and puzzle have the same RD, rating deviation. Otherwise abs(x) and abs(y) are different.
2013-01-04	Datr	If I have rating of 1500 and the puzzle has a rating of 1600, +100, then I am expected to win with probability, say 0.10, whereas, if the puzzle rating was 1400, -100, then my probability would be, say 0.90, I am expected to solve lower rated puzzles, it is the difference in probabilities that changes the differences in the rating changes.

2013-01-04	Datr	I think the site is really good and use it much more than any other. If I was designing the site for my own personal use I would try to: 1. Improve the quality of the Extended Solutions, either by limiting the number of moves or giving the engine more time. 2. Find a way to remove puzzles from the "Wrong Tactics List" after they have been solved.

Changing to Houdini and ditching the two "engine" approach 2. Sorting out the ELO rating system 3. Introducing Extended Solutions 4. Adding Edit Facilities to Comments 5. General layout presentations In general I think the quality of puzzle solutions are now much better, since the engine change. Clearly, I have "mastered" the lower level puzzle concepts because I am now consistently above 1750, I hope I don't drop after such a comment!! I am finding the 1800+ puzzles are much more challenging, there seems to be a step change around 1800. I think the site is really good and use it much more than any other. 2013-01-04	Datr	Best problem. In that case I think the 5 Star column is redundant since there will always be 150+ puzzles with a 5 Star rating. I suggest calling the table "5 Star Puzzles ranked by Number of Votes" and replacing the 5 Star Column with "No of Votes".

2013-01-04	Zuril	Datr: the idea is to list the best problems. The order is given by the number of stars and in second instance by number of votes.
2013-01-04	Datr	If the order is "average rate and number of rates" then only 5 star puzzles will ever get onto the list since there are only 150 displayed. I think the reverse order would be better, this gives non-5 star votes a chance to be displayed.
2013-01-04	Datr	In the tables the number of ratings isn't shown and all the ratings are 5 Star. Is the ordering, No of Stars then Number of Ratings, OR, Number of Ratings then No of Stars? I think it should be the latter. The title should be consistent with the order. So, "Problems ranked based on number of ratings and player ratings". Why are there no 1 Star, 2 Star, 3 Star and 4 Star puzzles in the list? Is it because 5 Star is the most common rating or because the ordering is wrong? Just checking?

2013-01-03	Datr	Classifica, Problem There doesn't appear to be any ranking just a list of puzzles rated as 5 star in a random order, am I missing something? If they were ranked by % Correct Sol, then the title could be. "5 Star puzzles ranked by % Correct"
2013-01-03	Datr	Zuril: I have noticed you have changed Ranking to Classifica. Personally I prefer Ranking. Here are some other suggestions. In Other 1. Have a main heading "Top 30 Rankings" followed by ranking titles. Problems attempted today, Player Votes, Player Comments 2. For presentation,have all three columns on the top row instead of 2 columns on the top row and one below. In Problem Change the title to: Problems ranked based on Player Ratings

2012-12-24	Zuril	Datr: yes Language is intentionally right justified. I think that User Stats Rates page hang because you have reated and commented a lot of problems and the query to extract them need a lot of time!
